IMG_2013

So, started a new plan based on explosive strength for American Football. I really want to add more to the team and love measuring data for my course so boom! The birth of the “Running Beast Project”! lol Here’s my starting stats πŸ˜€ Oi Oi Fatty!

Video for tips for precise measurements:

My 7 Point Skinfold Bodyfat Measurement:

  • Chest – Pectoral: 7mm
    • Diagonal fold between the axilla and nipple, high as possible to the anterior axillary fold.
  • Midaxillary: 13mm
    • Vertical fold on the midaxillary line at the level of xiphoid process.
  • Tricep: 8mm
    • Vertical midline fold, posterior between the mid-point between the acromiale and radiale.
  • Subscapular: 21mm
    • Diagonal fold at the lower angle of the scalpula.
  • Abdominal: 25mm
    • Vertical fold 5cm adjacent to the belly button to the side of measurements. (Left or right) etc.
  • Suprailiac: 7mm
    • Horizontal fold at the most lateral aspect immediately above the iliac crest.
  • Quadriceps: 8mm
    • Vertical fold at mid-point of the anterior surface of the thigh, midway between the patella and inguinal fold.

Bodyfat Results based on calculator on ExRx.net

  • Lean Weight: 83.20kg
  • Fat Mass: 12.49
  • Fat%: 13.05
  • Population Average: 17.71
  • Score: 78
  • Rating: Good

This result is just an inclination, a ballpark figure for personal use. The accuracy of my missus taking skinfold measurements without any prior knowledge or practice. But I’m looking for a repeatable measurement that I can do at home without a full BodPod or water displacement laboratory session. As long as I record my data in the same points every time, this should increase the accuracy of any subsequent loss or gain. (Inspiration for some new tattoos) Seriously thinking about it too. lol

That being said, It looks about right if I was to gauge myself by the bodyweight indicator image below. I’m won’t be uploading progress photos until the end of the new plan, but will be recording picture progress monthly for this program with my freshly learned uni knowledge. πŸ˜›

Well, I’m in the healthy range and that’s a good thing. But I need to be faster, stronger and not essentially bigger; but leaner. Functional fitness!
